PSI(Civil)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 30 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 28 years for other candidates.
RSI(CAR/DAR)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 28 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 26 years for other candidates.
PSI(FPB)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 30 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 28 years for other candidates.
PSI(Intelligence)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 30 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 28 years for other candidates.
Spl.RSI(KSRP)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 28 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 26 years for other candidates.
PSI(Wireless)	Must be holder of a degree in Physics / Electronics / Electricals / Computer Science / Telecommunication from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of science subjects in the final examination (45% for SC/ST and OBC candidates).	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 28 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 26 years for other candidates.
DSI (CID)	50% of the candidates to be filled in by degree in law and remaining 50% of the candidates to be filled in by degree in engineering/ technology recognized by AICTE or Master degree in Computer Applications	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 30 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 28 years for other candidates.
SI(KSISF)	Must be holder of a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification.	Minimum:21 years Maximum: 28 years for Scheduled cast, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. 26 years for other candidates.
if candidate is Ex-servicemen discharge by service by reason of demobilization, retrenchment or retirement, age limit shall be relaxed by the number of years of military service rendered by him plus additional periods. As per Cadre and Recruitment rules Endurance test & Physical Standard tests are conducted as below.

FINAL SELECT LIST: Final select list is prepared and published based on the verification report of the concerned authorities and such final select list is published equal to the number of posts notified in the official website.

APPOINTMENT: The candidates whose names are included in the final select list will be appointed by the appointing authorities i.e., concerned Range IGPs / Commissioners of cities.

Karnataka PSI Exam preparation tips and Strategy

The Karnataka State Police Board conducts the Karnataka PSI examination for recruiting personnel for the post of Sub Inspector Karnataka Police. There are three parts to the exam: a written test, a physical test, and an endurance test. All three stages must be cleared before a candidate can be selected for Karnataka PSI. With the help of a proper strategy, it is easier to crack this exam. In this blog, we will provide you with the Karnataka PSI prelims exam Strategy, which will help you analyze how you can attempt the exam and what your preparation strategy should be.

Karnataka PSI Exam Pattern-Prelims:

The KSP SI Exam Pattern consists of three stages which are namely the Written-test, Physical Standard Test, and the Endurance Test. The candidate should clear all the rounds for final selection.

Written Exam

It consists of two papers :

1. Descriptive Examination

2. Objective-Type Examination

The pattern for the Paper – I – Descriptive type exam has been given below in the following table-

The total time duration of the exam is 1 hour 30 minutes.

The pattern for Paper-II Objective Type Exam has been given below in the following table-

After clearing the above two papers the candidate will give the physical standard test and the endurance test. After passing all three rounds the candidate will clear the Karnataka PSI Exam.

Let us dive deep into each subject separately for the better preparation of Karnataka PSI Exam Prelims 2021.

Writing an essay of 600 Words: Prelims Exam Strategy

Update your notes with the latest data. It will help you to keep updated with the facts and and while updating the notes, you can revise the data again. It is a win-win situation.
Essay requires a lot of practice. So practice solving as many previous year question papers as you can. It will help you not only in writing good answers but also in managing time in the exam hall.
While practising the essay writing for the exam, make sure to assess the weak areas of yours, where you need to improve.
Practice writing at least 4-5 essays before appearing in the exam.
Prepare some essays on the commonly asked topics.
Do not use fancy language, make your point of view clear to the examiner.
Make sure your writing is legible to the reader, as well as take proper care of the grammar portion.

Precis writing: Prelims Exam Strategy

Read the comprehension carefully, Note down the important points, and Make a rough draft of the precis.
Make use of simple and precise language, as much as possible
Draft the final precis once all the points have been included
Do not write a lengthy precis. In most cases, the number of words must be almost one-third of the word count of the passage or comprehension.
Make sure that the precis you write does not have too complex a vocabulary or is too complicated to understand.
While reading the passage, make a note of the important points and ensure that no point is skipped.
The important terms with respect to the passage must be included in the precis as well.
The precis needs to have a title. So, the candidates must ensure that the title is in sync with the comprehension.

Translation from Kannada to English and vice versa: Prelims Exam Strategy

Start practicing translation on a daily basis. That way it will be easier for you to translate the text easily.

Mental Ability: Prelims Exam Strategy

Use Venn Diagrams for solving the questions of Syllogism.
Blood Relation questions can be easily solved by applying real-life relations to the questions.
Make it a point to practice puzzles daily. With practice you will gain expertise over this topic.
The input-output questions seem to be lengthy but once you decode the pattern, you can easily arrive at the solution by proceeding in a stepwise manner.
Study all the basics and gain knowledge about the methods of solving various kinds of questions.
Practice about 150–200 questions from each chapter.
Try to mark out the incorrect options.

Current Affairs: Prelims Exam Strategy

The questions asked in the General Knowledge section will be one-liner fact based questions.
A number of questions from the General Science section also asks. so candidates can focus more on studying General Science.
Attempt previous year questions, as many times the questions are repeated.
Attempt Questions that you are fully sure of.
As many fact based questions are asked, you can prepare them from Lucent.
For general awareness questions, you need to prepare for the last 6 month current affairs.
For current affairs questions you can refer to any standard magazines where last 6 month current affairs are covered in one book.

Karnataka PSI Exam: General Tips and Tricks

Here are a few tips and tricks for Karnataka PSI exam preparation.

Make Time Table- Many students apply for any exam but then do not study systematically. For systematic study you need a proper time table. So first of all prepare a time table covering all the topics asked in the exam.
Read good books: There are plenty of books available in the market, but reading all of them will be of no use. Refer to the standard books only. If you have notes from your coaching institute then refer to them for your preparation.
Read Newspaper: For current affairs section in general Knowledge, newspapers will be very helpful.
Revision is the key: One thing that sets toppers apart is the habit of revision. For this exam, revision is the key, you have to remember whatever you are reading.
Mock Tests for Prelims: Join a mock test series for better understanding of the actual exam level, test series can immensely help you in acing this exam.
Previous Year Question Papers: Go through the previous year question papers, It will help you to get a better idea of the level of exam and the kind of questions asked.
Keep a check on time: While attempting the mock test, make sure to attempt it in the prescribed time slot.
Physical Test Prep: make sure to prepare for the PET in advance. Many candidates start preparing for PET, once prelims results are declared. Do NOT repeat this. Start preparing for the physical exam once the prelims is over.

A candidate has to clear three stages namely the Written Test, Physical Standard Test, and the Endurance Test for being available for selection as Karnataka PSI.

There are 4 subjects in the Karnataka PSI Exam Pattern namely Mental Ability, Current Affairs, General English, and Kannada Language.

The Mental Ability and the Current Affairs are the most important of all the subjects in the Karnataka PSI Exam Pattern. This is because they cover 150 marks out of 200.

The total number of vacancies that need to be filled for the post of Karnataka PSI is 402.

Gujarat PSI Exam Pattern 2024

The Gujarat PSI exam pattern 2024 includes three major stages: prelims, mains and physical standard and physical efficiency test.

Candidates who pass these three rounds will be subjected to document verification, medical tests, and a personal interview. The details regarding the exam pattern for all the rounds are shared below.

Gujarat PSI Prelims Exam Pattern

The details of the Gujarat PSI prelims exam pattern 2024 are given below. Preliminary exams are the first phase of Gujarat PSI exams.

There are four sections, and each section has 25 questions.
The total mark for the examination is 100.
The time duration of the examination is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Each correct answer fetches 1 mark, and each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks.

Gujarat PSI Mains Exam Pattern

The details of the Gujarat PSI mains exam pattern 2024 are given below. The main exam is the second phase of the Gujarat PSI 2024 exams. Here are the details:

The main syllabus is divided into different subjects in Paper I, Paper II, Paper III & Paper IV.
Each paper set will contain 50 questions of 2 marks each.
The total number of questions is 200, with 400 marks in total.

Gujarat PSI Physical Standard and Physical Efficiency Test

As mentioned above, the Gujarat PSI 2024 exam will have two written exam phases and a third physical evaluation phase. This is purely the test of a candidate’s physical abilities. Specific criteria to be followed by the candidates are mentioned below:

Candidates need to secure at least 40 marks in the written exam to qualify for the next round.
The height and weight criteria of the Physical Standard Test (PST), which varies from post to post, are given in the table below:

Gujarat PSI Syllabus 2024 FAQs

Sub Inspector vacancies’ main subjects are Gujarati, English, General Knowledge of current events, Reasoning, Geography, History, General Science, and Law.

The pre-papers of PSI Gujarat 2024 is of 100 marks. It is MCQ-based paper consisting of 100 questions. Alloted time is 2 hours. The negative marking is 0.25.

The main exam of the PSI Gujarat Exam 2024 is 400 marks. It is an MCQ MCQ-based exam. It has 4 papers, each of 100 marks and has an allotted time of 2 hours. The negative marking is 0.25.

PSI Syllabus Gujarat 2024 : અહીં PSI ની પરીક્ષાનો સિલેબસ અને સબ-ઈન્સ્પેકટરના વિવિધ સંવર્ગોની સંયુક્ત સીધી ભરતીની પરીક્ષા પધ્ધતિમાં ફેરફાર વિશે જાણકારી આપવામાં આવી છે. જેની pdf તમે ડાઉનલોડ કરી શકો છો. PSI Syllabus Gujarat 2024 માં ભારતીના નવા નિયમો, નવા ઉમેરેલા વિષયો અને રદ કરેલા વિષયો અને રાષ્ટ્રીય કક્ષા યુનિવર્સિટીમાંથી કરેલ કોર્ષના મળવાપાત્ર માર્કસ વિશે ચર્ચા કરવામાં આવી છે.

PSI ની નવી પરીક્ષા પદ્ધતિ અને સિલેબસ

1). સબ-ઈન્સ્પેકટર સંવર્ગોની પરીક્ષા પહેલા (૧) શારીરિક કસોટી, (૨) પ્રિલીમ પરીક્ષા તથા (૩) મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા એમ ત્રણ તબક્કામાં લેવામાં આવતી હતી. જેના બદલે હવે (૧) શારીરિક કસોટી અને (૨) મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા એમ બે તબક્કામાં જ લેવામાં આવશે.

2). પહેલા સબ-ઈન્સ્પેકટરની ભરતીમાં શારીરિક કસોટી લેવામાં આવતી હતી. જેમાં દોડના ગુણ આપવામાં આવતા હતા. જેના બદલે હવે દોડ ફક્ત નિયત સમયમાં પાસ કરવાની રહેશે તેના કોઈ ગુણ રહેશે નહિ.

3). પહેલા શારીરિક કસોટીમાં ઉમેદવારોના વજનને પણ ધ્યાને લેવામાં આવતું હતું જે રદ્ કરવામાં આવેલ છે. આ સિવાયના શારીરિક ધોરણો લોકરક્ષકની જેમ જ રાખવામાં આવેલ છે. આમ, શારીરિક કસોટી લોકરક્ષકની જેમ જ હવે ફક્ત ક્વોલીફાઈંગ રહેશે તેના કોઈ ગુણ આપવાના રહેશે નહિ અને શારીરિક કસોટીમાં ઉત્તીર્ણ થયેલ તમામ ઉમેદવારો ત્યારબાદની Main Examination માં ભાગ લઈ શકશે.

4). પહેલા શારીરિક કસોટીમાં ઉત્તીર્ણ થયેલ ઉમેદવારોની બે કલાકની અને ૧૦૦ ગુણની પ્રિલીમ પરીક્ષા(MCQ TEST) લેવામાં આવતી હતી અને આ પ્રિલીમ પરીક્ષામાં ઉત્તીર્ણ થયેલ ઉમેદવારો પૈકી ભરતીની જગ્યાના ત્રણ ગણા મેરીટોરીયસ ઉમેદવારોને મુખ્ય પરીક્ષામાં બેસવા દેવામાં આવતા હતા અને મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા પેપર-૧(ગુજરાતી), પેપર-૨(અંગ્રેજી), પેપર- ૩(સામાન્ય જ્ઞાન) તથા પેપર-૪ (લીગલ મેટર્સ) દરેકના ૧૦૦ ગુણ એમ કુલ-૪૦૦ ગુણની MCQ Test હતી.

5). હવે કુલ-૩૦૦ ગુણની મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા લેવામાં આવશે. જેમાં બે પેપર રહેશે. પેપર- (GENERAL STUDIES(MCQ)) 03 કલાકનું અને ૨૦૦ ગુણનું રહેશે તથા પેપર- २(GUJARATI & ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILL DESCRIPTIVE) 03 કલાકનું અને ૧૦૦ ગુણનું રહેશે.

6). પેપર-૧ Part-A(૧૦૦ ગુણ) અને Part-B(૧૦૦ ગુણ) એમ બે ભાગમાં રહેશે અને દરેક ભાગમાં પાસ થવા માટે ઓછામાં ઓછા ૪૦ ટકા ગુણ ફરજિયાત લાવવાના રહેશે.

7). પેપર-૨ પણ Part-A(૭૦ ગુણ) અને Part-B(૩૦ ગુણ) એમ બે ભાગમાં રહેશે અને આ

8). પેપર-૨માં પાસ થવા માટે ઓછામાં ઓછા ૪૦ ટકા ગુણ ફરજિયાત લાવવાના રહેશે.

9). પેપર-૧ના દરેક ભાગમાં ઓછામાં ઓછા ૪૦ ટકા ગુણ મેળવનાર ઉમેદવારનું જ પેપર-૨ ચકાસવામાં આવશે.

10). જૂના પરીક્ષા નિયમોના વિષયો પૈકી સાયકોલોજી, સોશ્યોલોજી, આઈ.પી.સી., સી.આર.પી.સી., એવીડન્સ એક્ટ, ગુજરાત પોલીસ એક્ટ, ગુજરાત પ્રોહીબીશન એક્ટ, પ્રિવેન્શન ઓફ કરપ્શન એક્ટ, પ્રિવેન્શન ઓફ એટ્રોસીટીસ એક્ટ, મોટર વ્હીકલ એક્ટ જેવા વિષયો રદ્ કરીને નીચે મુજબના મુખ્ય વિષયો રાખવામાં આવેલ છે.
