Most Super Bowl parties are more about the game, the food and the drinks than the decor. But I just can’t host an event without some party decor, so these easy DIY football party decorations always come in handy.
My Super Bowl party is the biggest party I throw all year. What can I say? Southerners love their football!
It’s also the event the requires the most amount of cooking and the least amount of decorating.
Nobody wants tall centerpieces, balloons or other party decorations blocking their view of the game.
So I keep them to a minimum (which is good, since it gives me more time to spend on the food).
However, I just can’t host a party without having a few party decor items around.
So I came up with some super easy football-themed decorations that don’t take more than a few minutes to put together.
1 | Make A Game Day Water Cooler
You can make your own version of this water cooler with a large drink dispenser on top of an overturned galvanized bucket.
Then print off a Water Break sign and tape it on the front.
For an adult party, you could fill it up with something a little stronger than water 🙂
2 | Create Game Day Mason Jars
These DIY football mason jars from masonjarcraftslove.com are an awesome way to hold your straws and cutlery for your Super Bowl party.
Get the tutorial for how to make them HERE.
3 | Dress Up Cutlery Holders
First up is to dress up the containers that are holding your cutlery.
I wrap some kitchen containers in football-themed paper napkins * and tape them on at the back.
It instantly turns a plain jar into a football party decoration that costs next to nothing to make.
4 | Do The Same To Your Crock Pot
And I do the same thing for my crock pots (I always have a few for this party).
Especially the one slow cooker that’s really old and is an ugly pink color. Definitely not a football party color!
The napkin trick transforms it into Super Bowl party decor. I have even had people ask me where I got the tailgating crock pot from 🙂
As an added benefit, the napkins also keep the outside of the crockpot from getting food on it. So it’s easier to clean at the end of the day.
5 | Hang A printable Banner
Dress up the front of your buffet tables or a section of wall with our printable DIY football banner.
It won’t cost you anything to make and only takes a few minutes to put together.
You can find the tutorial and free printable files HERE .
6 | Make team flags
I like to make “flags” for whatever teams are in the game.
That way people can show their support for the team they’re pulling for.
To make them:
- Buy small felt pennants for each team. ( Party City is a good place to find them).
- Cut a small slit near the top and bottom of the side edge.
- Thread wooden skewers through the holes. You can tape or staple them if you want them to be held in place more securely. (But I don’t usually bother).
7 | Print Buffet signs
These clipboard signs remind people to take a plate and a napkin at the beginning of the buffet line.
Which probably isn’t really necessary since they need them to get their food.
But the one for grabbing a fork and knife does come in handy.
Lots of people forget to take them before they leave the buffet area, and that causes congestion when they go back to get them.
The sign makes it really obvious where the cutlery is. And the clipboards make it part of the decor.
8 | Use printable Food Labels
I also like to put up signs for each of the items on the buffet.
That way people know what’s in all of the crock pots and chafing dishes.
Sometimes I use small folded signs that can be put on the table beside the dish. Or taped or paper-clipped right onto the chafing dishes.
Sometimes, I use the same kind of clipboard signs to label the food as I do for the cutlery and tableware signs.
If you’re interested, you can find both of these printable food labels in our subscriber’s only resource library in the Football Party section.
Get access by signing up for our newsletter (or if you’re already a subscriber, you can go straight to the resource library and print them).
9 | Make Penalty Flag Napkin Holders
One thing you need a lot of when you’re serving snacks and food is napkins.
So I like to make sure they are available all over the room.
To make them fit in with the decor, I get yellow napkins, print out “Penalty Flags” signs and glue them onto small galvanized pails.
Then I put them on almost every table.
The Penalty Flags printable is also available for free in our subscriber’s resource library under the Football Party section.
Get access by signing up for our newsletter (or if you’re already a subscriber, you can go straight to the resource library and print it).
10 | Make a DIY Football Field Rug
For some reason, football parties seem to have more spills than usual (probably because of the number of people).
So I always take my area rug out of the living room for the party.
And replace it with an inexpensive DIY football field rug that adds to the game day atmosphere (and protects my hardwood floors).
Find out how to make it HERE.

18 Football Watch Party and Bday Decorating Ideas
Whether you’re looking for Super Bowl party ideas or football bday party ideas, we’ve got some fun tips for you! Food and football are the key elements of any successful football party but don’t stop there. With a little party planning know-how and the right party supplies, decorations, games, and activities, you can transform your party from a so-so party into an annual event your friends and family look forward to every of the year (or weekend!).
While a variety of games and activities can amp up your football party, festive decorations are just as important. Ideally, your party’s decor will reflect either one or both of the teams playing on the day of the big game. Generic football decor is also acceptable. In general, the goal is to establish a sporty, laid-back, and fun atmosphere in keeping with the party itself.
Not sure where to start? Incorporate the following football party decorating ideas into your gathering — and don’t be surprised if guests beg you to be the host or hostess again in the future.
Elevate the Party Food: Make the Treats And Serving Area As Visual As Possible
Food at football watch parties is typically served buffet-style, allowing guests to grab seconds when desired. This setup certainly doesn’t mean that you should skimp on presentation.
- Table decorations – Deck out the serving area with your favorite team’s official colors. A team table cover, streamers, and colorful plates can make a huge difference. Better yet, use a tablecloth featuring a football field design — complete with yard lines. Cutouts can be placed on either end of the buffet area to deliver a grander, more festive feel.

- Custom-themed football cardboard cutouts can be placed on either end of the buffet area to deliver a grander, more festive feel. Goal posts, Heisman trophies, or your favorite football players all make great cutouts for parties.
- In addition to the usual appetizers like chips, chicken wings, and guacamole, aim to serve highly visual treats that make your party pop. If you’re feeling ambitious, incorporate the football party theme into your guac and dip station; the green of fresh guacamole makes for the perfect field, while nacho cheese or salsa adds color to the end zones.
- Need some football party food ideas? Serve foods with a football theme! For example, you can get a football cake or helmet/football cupcakes with frosting in your team’s colors (cakes make great centerpieces for a dessert table too). A sheet cake could be decked out to look like a stadium. Crackers, brownies, deviled eggs, and even chocolate-covered strawberries can all be made to resemble helmets or the old pigskin.

- If you’re not intent on making fancy items yourself, take some time to learn about offerings at your local pizza places. Many provide specially-designed pizzas shaped like footballs not only for the Super Bowl, but throughout the entirety of the football season.
- Invest in football-shaped serving bowls and fill them with your favorite snacks and dips.
Football Party Decorations
- Build a Scoreboard – A scoreboard can keep everyone up to date and it also makes the party more interactive. Commonly used for fantasy football parties, this football decoration can be made on your own or purchased (cardboard cutouts make great ones!). Aim for a customizable scoreboard featuring the name of your favorite team and scores for both sides. Appoint somebody to keep up with the game and change the score as necessary. At the end of the game, guests can pose alongside the scoreboard with the appropriate facial expressions based on whether the preferred team won or lost.
“Today’s official attendance: Zero” by Matt McGee is licensed under CC BY-ND 2.0
- Decorate the viewing area! Food and game areas are easy to decorate, but football party hosts often neglect the space where everyone spends most of their time: the viewing area. A few cutouts can make all the difference, as can banners or garlands strung throughout the room.
- Consider going all-out with themed blankets and throw pillows, which serve the dual purpose of making your space more festive while also keeping guests comfortable. A rug representing a football field will complete the effect and transform your living room into the ultimate party zone.
Create Photo Stations with Cardboard Standees
- You might not be able to pose in person with your favorite athletes, but you can still show off your team spirit by taking pictures with cardboard cutouts. Post your favorite photos on Instagram and Facebook!
- Use Polaroid-style instant cameras to take pictures and provide a fun keepsake. Your guests will love these party favors!
- Create the ultimate photo experience with funny hole-in-head cutouts. For example, you can order a cutout of a football player diving into the end zone for a touchdown, a QB throwing the ball, the kicker making (or missing) a field goal, or a player running away from the opposite team. Hole-in-head cutouts of cheerleaders jumping into the air or an interview with a sports broadcaster or journalist can also be a lot of fun.
- Create an amped-up photo booth with a visually impactful backdrop, such as a poster of the game’s setting, a field in the background, the crowd cheering you on, a banner highlighting your favorite team’s colors, or even general football party decor. And if possible, get some awesome props, such as footballs, helmets, football bow ties, ref whistles, penalty flags, goofy glasses, funny talking bubbles, trophies, cheer megaphones, cups of beer, hot dogs and nachos, or team spirit foam fingers. There are so many fun football props you can use and probably some great free printables online too. Encourage guests to let loose with silly pictures that reflect their love of the game.
Play Football Party Games and Activities
- Cornhole and bean bag tosses are perennial party favorites! You can go all out and buy a fancy customized cornhole setup or you can make your own DIY option if you’re handy with woodwork. Or if you need something quick and easy, make a one with multiple layers of cardboard. It might not last longer than a day but it’ll be fun nonetheless. If you need some DIY beanbags, throw some dry beans or rice into socks or sandwich bags and seal them up with duct tape!
- Get a life-sized cardboard cutout with a hole large enough for a football and do a quarterback challenge! You can also get multiple targets to knock down or a small field goal post for a short field goal challenge.
- Darts – Real darts, lawn darts, or revenge darts (Muahaha!), they’re all fun! – You can get a cheap dartboard from any big box store and lawn darts too. They don’t make lawn darts like they used to, but they’re still fun(ish). And they keep the kids entertained during the game ;). And for revenge darts? Get a cardboard cutout of your least favorite player, set some targets, and get to throwing! Make sure this is a special area free from guests, the TV, or other potential hazards. BigHead cutouts make great dartboards too!
- Pin the football – A great option to keep kids and adults alike entertained at a family-friendly party. Make the pins look like footballs and the display like a field goal. Or get cardboard cutouts of your favorite mascot. Fans of the Detroit Lions can play pin the tail on the lion, Packers fans can pin the cheesehead on Bart Starr, or you can pin the Vince Lombardi trophy on Patrick Mahomes (or your favorite player of course). The options are virtually endless, so don’t hesitate to think up something truly original for your party.
Make Your Football Party Fun & Memorable
- Football Party Favors – End the day with party favor bags. This is probably obvious for a birthday party but don’t rule this out for game-day watch parties either! Football stickers, team logo keychains, laces out snap bracelets, mini foam fingers, team bracelets, tiny footballs, headbands, football lollipops, shot glasses, bottle openers, a custom water bottle, and so on. You know your crowd – pick appropriately!
There are clearly lots of ways to throw an amazing party. You might go all out for a Super Bowl party or a one-time football themed birthday party. But if you’re doing a weekly watch from home or a regular tailgate party, just stick to a few solid favorites (interactive activities are great for tailgating and making new friends!) With a little creativity and the right tools, you can quickly take your football party from typical to terrific. The team at Cardboard Cutout Standees is happy to help. 7 Ways to Plan a Fun and Memorable Football Presentation
- Post author: Team Tower
- Post published: 22nd February 2024
- Post category: Football
- Post comments: 0 Comments
Football presentations are a great way to showcase your team’s achievements, celebrate victories, and bring everyone together. Whether you’re planning a presentation for a sports event, an award ceremony, or a season wrap-up party, it’s essential to make it fun and memorable for all involved. In this blog, we’ll explore seven practical ways to Plan a Fun and Memorable Football Presentation
1. Set Clear Goals:
Before you begin planning your presentation, determine its purpose and specific goals. Are you aiming to motivate the team, recap the season, or celebrate individual achievements? Understanding this will help you structure the content and activities accordingly, making the experience more relevant and engaging for your audience.
2. Themes and Decorations:
Themes can add excitement and create a cohesive atmosphere. Consider tailoring your presentation theme to your team’s colours or the season on which you’re reflecting. Engage your team members by encouraging them to dress up according to the theme, and use decorations, such as banners and flags, to transform the venue into a football paradise.
3. Multimedia Presentations:
Incorporate visual elements like videos, slide shows, and music to make your presentation more dynamic. Collect memorable photos, match highlights, and clips of player interviews throughout the season. These multimedia presentations will capture the essence of your team’s journey and create an emotional connection with the audience.
4. Engage the Audience:
Make the presentation interactive to keep your audience engaged and entertained. Organise quizzes, mini-games, or trivia sessions related to your team’s performance. This will not only create a sense of camaraderie but also allow your audience to actively participate and have fun. Consider offering small prizes to the winners to make it all the more exciting.
5. Recognise Achievements:
Acknowledge individual players’ achievements, such as top scorers, most improved players, or best support staff. Highlight their contributions, share their success stories, and present them with personalised trophies or certificates. This recognition not only boosts morale but also fosters a sense of pride within the team.
6. Guest Speakers:
Invite guest speakers to bring a fresh perspective to your football presentation. You could consider inviting former football players, coaches, or respected community members who have made a significant impact on the sport. Their experiences and insights will provide valuable learnings and inspire your team members.
7. Reflect and Celebrate:
End your presentation by reflecting on the best moments of the season and celebrate the camaraderie and teamwork it has built. Allow players and staff to share their thoughts and experiences. Encourage everyone to express gratitude to those who have supported them throughout the journey. Conclude the event with a toast, a team photo, or a group celebration.
A well-planned football presentation goes beyond the traditional trophy-giving ceremony. By incorporating clear goals, engaging activities, multimedia presentations, and recognising achievements, you can create an event that everyone will remember for years to come. Remember, it’s not just about celebrating victories but also about honouring the collective efforts and the journey that brought your team together. So, go ahead, put on your creative hat, and plan a football presentation that is both fun and memorable!

- Make marshmallow pops dipped in colorful chocolate in team colors, and display them stadium-style on stacked foam blocks wrapped in brown craft paper.
PARTY TIP: Guests will bring their own favorite recipes to share so make sure you have room on the table.

This turned out fabulous! Might be one of my favorites you’ve ever done! I LOVE the copper cups and the wooden serving trays you used. Sources pretty please? I think one of my favorite details was the football in the urn with the two flags. It’s so simple and darling!! Again, sources for all of your wooden accents. I just love them!
Wow, thank you so much Jessica! The wood trays are a mix of items I found at HomeGoods, Target, and the one with legs is from Pottery Barn. Bowls are Crate & Barrel & Walmart. Spoons & knife are Crate & Barrel & HomeGoods. 🙂

Unforgettable Football Centerpieces You Need for Your Next Football Party
Best Budget
Table of Contents

Want to create an atmosphere that screams ‘Football’? It’s all about picking the right centerpieces. From classic football silhouettes to your favorite NFL team decorations, there’s a whole lot to choose from.
Choosing the Best Football Centerpieces
Just like picking the right plays, picking the right centerpieces for your football party takes some strategy. First, think about your crew – are they devoted fans of a particular team or do they just come for the snacks?
Then decide whether you should go full throttle with team-themed decorations or stick with generic football designs . And don’t forget – you’re aiming for quality, not quantity.
That insanely detailed 3D field centerpiece is cool and all, but if it leaves no room for the food, well, it’s no good. Keep it simple, relevant, and you won’t go wrong.

Football Table Decorations for Birthday Party
Let’s not forget about the little football fans. Whether it’s a surprise party for a football-mad kid or a party for a bunch of young athletes, football table decorations are essential. Birthday parties ought to be fun, memorable, and full of cheer. What better way to get the party going than with some authentic football table decorations that get the young in the spirit of the game?
12. Football Players Party Decorations
Now, when it comes to adding some personality to your party, football player decorations should be a no-brainer, right? Of course, you’re going to have the usual banners and balloons, but how about something a little more creative to stir up the football spirit among your guests?
Believe it or not, choosing the right decorations can make your guests feel like they’re right in the thick of the action.
For instance, you could get some lifesize cutouts of famous football players. You could even arrange them in a way that feels like they’re a part of the game. Now, that’s what I call a football atmosphere!
You could also get some football team emblems or mascots as part of your decorations. And hey, don’t forget those cheerleader decorations. They are just as important to the game as the players, right?
- Football player-themed party decorations
- Adds a sporty ambiance to the celebration
- Suitable for football-related parties and events
- Limited versatility in terms of non-football-themed parties
How to Display Your Football Centerpieces
Alright, folks, you’ve got your football centerpiece, and it’s a beaut. But how do you put it on display that’s gonna make your guests cheer louder than a touchdown in the fourth quarter?
First, height is key. Make sure this bad boy is raised and in the center of the table. People need to see this masterpiece from all angles. You could use a cake stand or even a stack of books; just make sure it’s stable. You must also decide where it is you want to place your centerpieces. A few common locations include tables, buffet tables, gift tables, and entryways. Now, in the case of football centerpieces on tables, you can make sure they are positioned in the center. You can also consider using tablecloths, table runners, or placemats that match the football theme to create a cohesive look. Create a balanced arrangement with your centerpieces. If you have multiple tables, you can aim for consistency in your design, using the same elements or a similar color palette for all of them.
Next up, lighting. You want your centerpiece to shine like a Super Bowl trophy. Position it somewhere it can catch the light, maybe even throw in a few candles or lanterns for added oomph. Also, if you have to display it for an event, and your event extends into the evening, you can consider adding some lighting elements to your centerpiece. This can include LED candles and string lights, or for fun, you can add mini football-shaped lights!
And last but definitely not least, let’s talk about the surrounding territory. A centerpiece is a king, but every king needs his court. Surround your centerpiece with coordinating party decorations, napkins, plates- you name it, and you have a Super Super Bowl party!
Tips When Purchasing Football Centerpieces Online
Buying it online, huh? Before you hit that ‘buy now’ button, there are a few things you must consider.
Number one: Always check the seller’s ratings and reviews. Look for a company that has more stars than a playoff team. But don’t stop at the star ratings. Dig into those reviews and see what other customers gotta say. A centerpiece might look like a million bucks in the picture, but you want to make sure it’s not gonna deflate like a bad football when it arrives.
Number two: Always check the shipping and delivery details. If you’re hosting a Superbowl party, you want your centerpiece arriving before the coin toss. Make sure you’re on the ball with the delivery times. Be prepared to invest a bit to get a centerpiece that’s really gonna score you some points with your guests.
How to Create a Football Atmosphere With the Perfect Football Centerpieces
Creating the football atmosphere isn’t just about having a ball-shaped centerpiece. It’s about the whole shebang.
Picture this: green tablecloths that mimic the football field, snack bowls that look like mini helmets, and, of course, your star player- the football centerpiece. Keeping the theme and decorations consistent is the key here.
Conclusion: An Unforgettable Football-Themed Party
To wrap it all up, the perfect football-themed party starts and ends with your centerpiece. It’s the star of your decor, the MVP, that sets the whole tone of the party.
Choose it wisely, display it with thought, and it’s gonna have your guests feeling like they are right on the 50-yard line. Trust me, they’ll be talking about your party for many seasons to come.
Now remember, a party isn’t just about the decorations. It’s about the people, the vibe, the cheers and jeers. But with the right centerpiece and football party decorations, you’re sure to add that cherry on top of your game-day celebrations.
May your party be as unforgettable as a hundred-yard touchdown pass!

The Ultimate Guide To Football Themed Events
Football is by far the most popular sport in the world and the sheer passion its fans have for it makes it an ideal theme for an event. Transferring the energy and excitement from the pitch to your venue will make for an unforgettable night.
At Table Art, we think all event themes can be taken to brilliant new heights of elegance and style – and a football themed event is no different. With all of its iconography and beloved teams, it’s the perfect basis for an event guests will love.
We’ve created this guide to give you some points in styling, decorating, and lighting your football themed event so that your atmosphere can reach a fever pitch.
Getting Started With Football Themed Events
Football themed events have a natural pairing when it comes to many award ceremonies, sporting events, and the celebration of sporting achievements. It can also work well with birthday parties, school events, bar and bat mitzvahs, and end of year parties.
It’s a versatile theme and you can choose your design to match your guest list, with the option of a family-friendly recreation of a football pitch, or a sleek award evening where guests will feel at home in their glamorous outfits.
Sporting arenas and large stadium conference centres are often the go-to football theme venues and many universities and leisure centres also make a good fit. Having lots of clear floor space or an outdoor area can be a good idea if you want to set up a place for guests to try their best at penalty shootouts.
However, as long as your venue has adequate staging for speakers or entertainment – you should be able to make any venue work with the right style.
Decorations, Furniture, And Design
Typical football decorations include icons from the game including goalposts, football boots, scarves, shirts, trophies, and, of course, the football itself. You can make these come alive with prints, posters, and props.
To complete the scene you might want to include light panels of special players, moments in football history, or your local team. Recreating green turf or grass across tables or walls can help emphasise your theme, as can netting and soccer-ball patterns.
For a fun twist, you might want to have a vintage football theme using images of 19th-century players, leather footballs, and candy strip football colours.
Using lit and coloured furniture including sitting cubes, poseur tables, and bright entranceways is a good method of getting your theme to stand out.
Centrepieces, Lighting, And Colour Scheme
Classic football colours are the green of the pitch and the black and white of the football. However, a good approach is also to use the colours of your local team or the team most associated with your group or organisation.
With the lighting, you might want to recreate the feel of floodlights or to have festoon lighting that twinkles like a sky full of footballs. Most importantly, you want to be able to control the colours and atmosphere of your event as the mood changes through the night.
A custom centrepiece is a perfect way to cost-effectively control the lighting and colour at your venue. The design can work as a statement piece that places your theme in the middle of every table.
At Table Art, we’ve created many centrepieces for sporting events and some of our most beloved creations have been footballs resting on plinths and signed memorabilia lit-up and on display for guests.
Check out some of our previous centrepieces to see what’s possible with football events.
Football Crazy, Football Mad: Capture The Thrill Of The Game With A Football Themed Event
It can be difficult to make sure your football themed event manages to convey the thrill of the game while still having a sophisticated event.
To pull it all off, you’ll need to carefully plan your night. Pay attention to how guests interact with your space and make subtle use of decorations and lighting.
If you want help styling your football themed event, or any other sporting theme, then get in touch with Table Art for a consultation . We can create, transport, and install custom centrepieces and furniture that will make your event unforgettable.

23 Memorable Football Theme Party Ideas
Updated on: Sep 01, 2024
Football is a fun theme for birthdays, end of football season parties, bachelor parties, and football watching parties. Here are some ideas to help kick off your football theme party that will surely impress your guests.
Football Theme Party: Invitations
1. photo invitation.
Take a picture of the guest of honor in a football jersey and helmet. Make several copies and glue them to a piece of cardstock. Write “Here is the game plan" and include the party details. Or simply purchase one online if you aren't feeling creative!
2. Whistle Tag
Write your party information on a brown, football-shaped tag. Tie it around a plastic whistle and mail it to your guests.
3. Football
Cut the shape of a football out of a piece of brown construction paper to create your invitations. Use glue to create the stitching on the football and sprinkle it with silver glitter. Let the invites dry before writing your party information on the back. This will also work for any other sports theme party. Some other ideas for invites, or even for your menu, are to create a basketball, baseball, and even helmets in honor of your theme party.
Football Theme Party: Decorations
A football theme party needs plenty of football-themed party supplies to bring out the cheering spirit. It doesn’t stop at room decorations. Your guests and your background contribute to the vibe. Be sure your 5 Ws all include football!
4. Football Banners
Hang large football banners on your walls and over your door to welcome your guests. You can hang up the banner of your favorite team!
Read on for more football theme party decorations and supplies, but you can also take a look at any potential deals online.
Use the colors of your favorite team to determine what color balloons, streamers, tableware, and other supplies will be. Guests will feel the love for their team even more.
Have your guests wear their favorite football team’s jersey or shirt to your party. People can come together to share their love for their team or heighten the rivalries and competition between competing teams.
7. Play Footballs
Display a bucket of miniature foam footballs to play within your party space to encourage your guests to get in the football mood. Scatter mini footballs around the room. If your party is outside, display actual footballs.
8. Table Décor
Cover your table with a green tablecloth and use white masking tape to create yard markers. Use white LEGO bricks to create goalposts and place them at either end of your table. Or you can always just buy a football-themed tablecloth.
9. Football Game
If you are not hosting a football watch party but still want it to have the same vibe, have it as background noise. Have football gameplay in the background to complete your football party decorations. Keep the volume low so that it does not interrupt your party.
Football Theme Party Menu Ideas
Just in “queso”, you didn’t know, nothing completes a football theme party like food does. Decorations and dress codes contribute to the team spirit, but the food is what really riles people up. Usually, this is the time to binge on the cheesiest and most carb-filled junk food you can get your hands on. We included some healthy options too!
10. Nacho Average Bunch
Load up your favorite corn chips with ground beef, guacamole, shredded lettuce, pickled red onion, corn, and everything that your heart desires. Don’t forget the cheese! If you want to go the healthy route, you can switch out the corn chips for zucchini, bell pepper, or cauliflower.
11. Seven-Layer Taco Dip
If you want something simpler and without the baking, serve a seven-layer taco dip along with chips for a football theme party appetizer. Layer on fresh diced tomatoes, bell peppers, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese. Play around with whatever is in season and of course, have a bowl of corn chips so your guests can scoop up this delicious dip.
12. Barbecue
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Marinate chicken wings or drumsticks with BBQ sauce. Pop it in the oven then add more sauce on top! Or you can bake the drumsticks without the sauce to make the skin crispy then toss the cooked chicken in sauce.
Speaking of barbecue, you might want to take a look at our tips on how to throw a great BBQ party!
13. Touchdown Foot Longs

15. Pizza Bagels
Serve miniature pizza bagels for a fun appetizer or large pizza bagels for a yummy entrée. It is super simple to make! First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread pizza sauce on your bagel, sprinkle pizza cheese, and top it off with pepperoni or topping of your choice. Pop it in the oven for 6 minutes or until the cheese is melted and voila!
16. Popcorn
Serve popcorn in stadium bags. Set out plenty of toppings for your guests to add like butter, cheese, cinnamon, and caramel sauce. Providing a variety of popcorn seasoning is also a great option.
Looking for more health-conscious alternatives? We've got you covered!
Don’t worry, “beer” happy! You cannot forget about the drinks. Serve your guests drinks like lemonade , root beer , and fruit punch in stadium cups.
18. Team Trail Mix
For a great party snack, mix several bowls of cereal, dried fruit, nuts, and colored chocolate pieces. Make sure to choose colors that match the colors of your favorite football team.

- Super easy football party decorations – Just in time for the big game
Whether you are planning a “big game” watch party, a sports-themed birthday party, or any ol’ football game watching party, I have your football party decorations covered today with these easy ideas. If you are looking for football party snacks, check out this post from earlier this week with super easy football party food ideas . You can also get more football party inspiration by following my Football Party inspiration board on Pinterest . Most of the ideas I am sharing today are super quick and easy to DIY, or are available for quick delivery from Amazon. So you’re definitely not too late to pull some of these football party decorations together for the big game Sunday.

Football party food table sign
Football-themed food table sign – handwritten version. This food station sign can be easily DIYed with any size chalkboard sign. Some simple wording (Ready, Set, Eat) plus some Xs and Os and you’re ready for kick-off.
Football-themed food table sign – Cricut version. If you don’t trust your hand-writing, you can make this version of the football food table sign using vinyl and your Cricut cutting machine. Here are the instructions, a link to the art in the Cricut Design Space, and the products needed.
What you need:
- Football Food Sign art in the Cricut Design Space
- Cricut Smart Vinyl (Permanent), White
- Cricut Joy Transfer Tape
- Cricut Weeding Tools
- Blank chalkboard sign
How to make it:
- Resize the artwork as needed to fit your chalkboard sign.
- Follow the prompts on your Cricut app to choose the appropriate materials, load, and start cutting.
- Weed the excess vinyl.
- Add transfer paper to the top of the artwork, and firmly press down so the art sticks to the transfer tape and comes off of the backing.
- Position the sticky side onto the chalkboard sign (the gridlines on the transfer tape are helpful for keeping the artwork straight).
- Press down firmly to make sure the art is attached to the chalkboard sign surface, then remove the transfer tape.
Football banners and garlands
Football game day banner decoration – store bought version. I found this great banner on Amazon ( click here to buy it ), and now bring it out for every football watch party. I love that it’s neutral enough to use for any team, and either NFL, NCAA, or high school football party decorations. Feeling a little more DIY? Check out the Cricut DIY version below.
Football game day banner decoration – DIY version. If you’re feelin’ extra crafty, you can make your own football game day banner. The benefit of making it yourself is that you can make each pennant as large as you want, and you can print as many as you want to customize the length of your football banner. Here are the instructions, a link to the art in the Cricut Design Space, and products needed to create the project.
- Football Banner art in the Cricut Design Space
- Cricut Maker 3 or other Cricut cutting machine
- Cricut Light Grip Mat (12×24)
- Cricut Cardstock Sampler, Basics (you need black and white paper for this project)
- Cricut Cardstock Sampler, Brown Tones (you need brown paper for this project)
- Cricut Weeding Tools
- Cricut Glue Gun
- Cricut Mini Glue Sticks
- Resize your art as needed (and if applicable), then follow the prompts in your Cricut app and on your cutting machine to load the materials and start cutting. You will want to duplicate the project to however many banner pennants you will want to print.
- Remove the art from the mat, weed, and repeat with the other cuts.
- Use a hot glue gun to attach the paper layers.
- Hole punch the corners, and add twine to assemble the banner.
Printable garland football decoration. You can make this festive football party garland yourself, and can even get your kids to help, as it’s easy enough for little hands! Get the free game day paper chain printable from The Centsible Life here .
- The printable (link to the free printable is above)
- A color printer
- Double-sided tape
Football party cups
DIY football cups. As you saw in my super easy football party food ideas post, pretty much anything that’s brown can be made into little footballs by decorating on some white laces.
- Brown plastic cups
- White Sharpie marker
- Just draw on some laces, let the marker dry, and you are ready to serve your favorite party beverages.
DIY personalized football party cups. For something nicer than the plastic cup idea, you can also use these football beer mug tumblers from Amazon . They have a blank spot on the tumbler that my sister discovered was perfect for adding some personalization with her Cricut and some vinyl. We made these for a football-watching birthday party for my mom.
Football-themed water bottle labels
Football-themed water bottle wrappers. Mimic ref stripes easily using black and white striped wrapping paper ! Cut to the size of your water bottles to replace the brand wrapping and secure with double-sided tape. This easy DIY adds a great festive accent to your game day spread.
Football party food serving supplies
Football toothpicks – store bought version. We love these football flag picks! You can get them on Amazon here . They are such an easy way to add some fun football decorations to your football party food display, and a great way for guests to eat bite-sized football party appetizers like my Crock Pot Party Meatballs . Want to DIY them instead? Check out this homemade version made with your Cricut!
Football food picks – DIY version. If you’re in the mood to make your own football cupcake toppers or football flag food picks, you can make them with your Cricut. Here are the instructions, a link to the art in the Cricut Design Space, and products needed.
- Football Food Picks art in the Cricut Design Space
- Cricut Joy
- Cricut Joy Light Grip Mat (4.5×12)
- Cricut Cardstock Sampler, Basics (you’ll need white paper for this project)
- Cricut Cardstock Sampler, Brown Tones (you’ll need brown paper for this project)
- Get the art from the Cricut Design Space (link above) and duplicate for the amount of picks you’d like to make.
- Follow the prompts on your Cricut Design Space app and cutting machine to choose the appropriate materials, load, and cut. Since a Light Grip Mat is ideal for cardstock, I used one sized for the Cricut Joy.
- Repeat with the second color.
- Fold the brown flags in half. Add some double-sided tape to the inside, and add one of the white triangles.
- Add hot glue to one edge of a toothpick and place the toothpick to the inside fold. Add more hot glue around the edges of the inside of the flag, and fold the paper over, pinching to seal with hot glue.
- Repeat with the remaining food picks.
Functional football decorations: Stadium snack display. You can display snacks in this epic way for only about $15! I originally saw an idea on Pinterest to make your own snack stadium , but when I found this ready-made football snack stand food display on Amazon for a reasonable price, I decided to save myself the DIY effort and just buy it. Get this football snack stadium from Amazon here , and see my super easy football party food ideas post for inspiration on what to serve in it.
Football party plates and napkins. This football paper plates and napkins set from Amazon look great with green tablecloths and green plastic ware .
Other football party decorations
Game day door sign. Not pictured, but a few other football party decorations ideas that I have used for football parties in the past are this game day door sign (from Amazon) and the other items listed below.
Football field tablecloth. I love this football field plastic table cover from Amazon . You can also use strips of turf as tablecloths (like this from Amazon) , but since they are not that comfortable to lean on, I recommend using the turf strips for food buffet or food display tables. It has a great effect for photographs, as you’ll see in my super easy football party food ideas post.
Goal post centerpiece football decorations. Another cheap and easy football party décor idea is this goal post centerpiece from Amazon . Since they are from Amazon, you can get them quickly with Prime so you can have them in time for the Super Bowl. They also go nicely with the snack stadium pictured above.
Don’t forget to pin and share if you are inspired, and tag @fabeveryday in your pictures on social media if you use any of these ideas! I love seeing how you use my party planning ideas!
