5G Coverage At No Extra Cost

When you’re using a 5G phone in a 5G coverage area, you can expect faster download speeds (around 150-200Mbps on average). You’ll also benefit from more network capacity and lower amounts of latency when you’re connected to 5G.

At present, Vodafone offers 5G coverage in more than 100 UK towns and cities, with further locations regularly being added. You can also access 5G coverage when travelling abroad in more than 200 locations across Germany, Italy, Spain and the Republic of Ireland.

Selected Vodafone Business plans come with inclusive roaming in either 51 European destinations or 83 worldwide destinations at no extra cost. In other places, you’ll normally be able to roam for a fixed daily charge.

Keeping Your Phone Number

Start by requesting a PAC Code from your old network. You can get one through your mobile network’s website or app, or by texting PAC to 65075. Once you have it, you’ll be able to order your Vodafone Business plan online .

Once your new mobile phone or SIM card arrives, you’ll be able to set it up and provide your PAC Code to Vodafone . The transfer of your phone number will then be scheduled, normally for the next working day.

Vodafone goes after SMBs with new business plans and apps

Vodafone Australia is eyeing a more prominent role in the SMB sphere, with the announcement of a new suite of business-centric plans and access to third-party apps.

The telecommunications carrier's new Business Flex plans allow small and medium-sized businesses to curate their own mobile phone plans, ranging from AU$30 to AU$150 per month.

The plans all include unlimited text messages and national calls, data of up to 20GB per month, AU$5 per day global roaming , the capability to share plan inclusions across all employees, a personal account manager based out of Vodafone's Tasmanian service centre for companies with 10 or more employees on a Business Flex plan, the telco's 30-day Network Happiness Guarantee , up to 10,000 Qantas Acquire points, and an "optional technology fund" to aid businesses in purchasing new smartphones and tablets.

Stuart Kelly, Vodafone's executive general manager for Enterprise Business, said the plans enable businesses to only pay for inclusions they need.

"Business Flex offers an alternative, which means businesses only pay for the essentials and can purchase add-ons as they see fit," Kelly said.

"We have heard that many businesses are disappointed and fed up with the overall value and service they are receiving from their current provider.

"We are also proud to offer Australian businesses with ten or more connections a single point of contact to focus specifically on serving the needs of their business and delivering best-in class customer service."

Vodafone's expanded Ready Business Apps portal, meanwhile, now includes Norton Small Business, Dropbox Business, MozyPro, Xero, and Office 365. GoDaddy and Google Apps for Work will be added later this month.

The telecommunications provider is also throwing in a two-month subscription for Dropbox Business, Norton Small Business, Xero, and GoDaddy Website Builder. Thereafter, Dropbox starts from AU$34 per month for two licences; Norton Small Business starts at AU$10.83 per month for up to five devices; Xero starts at AU$25 per month for one employee; and GoDaddy Website Builder costs AU$14 per month, while MozyPro costs AU$10 per month for 10GB of storage; Office 365 costs AU$7 per month per licence; Google Apps for Work starts at AU$5 per licence per month; and GoDaddy Domain's lowest-cost offering is AU$12.99 per year.

According to Kelly, the financial management, productivity, business building, and data security apps were chosen after a "comprehensive review of the core communication requirements and needs of Australian small businesses".

"We found through our research that mobility and office enablement were common needs across numerous industries and business sizes, so we have designed our Ready Business Apps range to ensure that whether you're a graphic designer, a plumber, a retailer, or real estate agency, your business has the tools it needs to help grow and run more smoothly, all at the touch of a button," said Kelly.

Kelly claimed that Vodafone's new plans and app suite are of significant value for businesses when combined with its recent network investments.

"It's clear that Vodafone's network is holding its own. Our 4G network is reliable and resilient. We are proud to back our network investment with a Network Happiness Guarantee, which means if you join us and you're not happy with our network in the first 30 days, you can cancel your contract and only pay for what you've used until the cancellation goes through," the head of Enterprise said.

Vodafone has recently expanded its 4G network nationwide by purchasing AU$68 million worth of 1800MHz spectrum ; refarmed its 850MHz spectrum band to bring coverage to regional and metropolitan Queensland , New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory ; proposed to the Australian government that it be permitted to pay AU$594.3 million for 2x 10MHz in the 700MHz spectrum band that was unsold in the 2013 auction; and last week announced an investment of over AU$9 million to be spent on constructing 32 new mobile base stations across the country.

8 million student-loan borrowers on Biden's new repayment plan just got more bad news after a federal court officially blocked cheaper payments and debt cancellation

• The 8th Circuit officially blocked the SAVE student-loan repayment plan in its entirety.
• It replaces its temporary stay on the plan from July, which paused cheaper payments and debt relief.
• Enrolled borrowers will likely be in limbo for long as the legal process progresses.

The legal roller coaster for millions of student-loan borrowers continues.

On Friday, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals placed a preliminary injunction on President Joe Biden's SAVE income-driven repayment plan, intended to lower monthly payments and shorten the timeline for relief for the 8 million borrowers enrolled.

If this sounds familiar, that's because it is: on July 18, the 8th Circuit placed a temporary stay on the plan in response to a lawsuit led by Missouri's attorney general to block the plan from being implemented. This latest ruling replaces that stay, and it likely means that enrolled borrowers will be in limbo for longer as the legal process is carried out.

"Among the considerations here are that all borrowers currently impacted by our administrative stay are in administrative forbearance and thus not required to pay principal or interest on their loans, borrowers who have remained in PAYE and REPAYE plans are not impacted, and the States cannot turn back the clock on any loans that have already been forgiven," the 8th Circuit said in its ruling.

Education Sec. Miguel Cardona said in a Friday statement that the administration "strongly disagrees" with the ruling.

"If allowed to stand, this ruling would force millions of borrowers to pay hundreds of dollars more each month," he said. "And the decision's reasoning could also deny loan forgiveness to individuals who were expecting it after up to 25 years of faithful repayments. The ruling rejects a practice of providing loan forgiveness that goes back 30 years."

As a result of the legal challenges, the department has already  placed all enrolled borrowers on administrative forbearance , during which the borrowers are not required to make any payments and interest will not accrue. Cardona said the forbearance will continue, and the department will provide "regular updates to borrowers affected by these rulings in the coming days."

Additionally, while the department confirmed this forbearance period would not count toward forgiveness progress for borrowers on Public Service Loan Forgiveness or income-driven repayment, it recently released guidance on other ways borrowers could still get credit , including switching to a new repayment plan.

Legal challenges to SAVE have been ongoing for months. Earlier this year, two separate groups of GOP state attorneys general filed lawsuits to block parts of the plan , leading two federal courts to place preliminary injunctions on the cheaper payments and debt relief. The 10th Circuit later granted Biden's request to stay one of the rulings, but the 8th Circuit ultimately halted the plan from being implemented in its entirety.

The back-and-forth has sparked confusion and stress among many borrowers who aren't sure what their finances will look like if SAVE is blocked. One borrower on SAVE previously told BI that he's worried he'll have to sell his house or get a second job if he no longer has access to cheaper payments under the plan.

"Right when my wife and I felt like we were in a position to start a family and start the next chapter of our lives, it feels like the rug got pulled out from underneath us because it sure seemed like the SAVE plan was something that we could rely on," he said.

Uber, Facing Sexual-Assault Litigation, Pushes Plan That May Curb Suits

Uber has spent millions trying to get a proposal on the Nevada ballot that would restrict the legal fees that bankroll many lawsuits against companies.

It has been a decades-long dream of corporate America: making it harder for aggrieved customers, workers and others to file lawsuits against companies seeking compensation for alleged injuries, mistreatment and other harms.

Now Uber, the giant ride-hailing company that has been a magnet for such litigation, is pitching a plan that could fulfill that fantasy, at least in one state.

The company is seeking to place a measure on Nevada’s ballot that would drastically limit the amount of money that lawyers could collect when they brought successful lawsuits. If the measure passes, it will make it less attractive — and in some cases financially impractical — for plaintiffs’ lawyers to file such suits.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Nevadans for Fair Recovery, a political action committee created this year by Uber and its lobbyists. The company has put $5 million into the PAC and is its only financial backer, campaign finance records show .

The PAC has presented the measure as a way to protect people from trial lawyers who are “getting rich at the expense of plaintiffs and everyone else,” as the group says on its website alongside a picture of someone sliding a $100 dollar bill into a suit pocket.

Vodafone Idea launches new postpaid plans for corporate customers

The enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea (VIL), Vi Business, on Monday announced a range of new postpaid plans for corporate customers and said upgraded plans would be bundled with various benefits. With 'Work from Home', 'Learn from Home', and 'Entertainment from Home' emerging as the "new way of living" amid the pandemic-induced social distancing norms, customers too have evolved with their needs and requirement of high-speed data.

"Keeping this in mind, Vi Business - the enterprise arm of VIL, today announced a range of new postpaid plans for its corporate customers. The upgraded plans will be bundled with range of exclusive benefits," the company said in a statement.

Vi 'Business Plus' plans would enable corporate customers to strike the right balance between business objectives and employee preferences in an increasingly hybrid working environment.

The plans include Rs 299 (30GB data quota), Rs 349 (40GB data quota), Rs 399 (60 GB data quota), Rs 499 (100GB data quota).

"Existing Vi Business Corporate customers will be upgraded to the new Business Plus Plans, as applicable, from their subsequent billing cycles," the statement added.

The benefits of upgraded plans listed out by the company include mobile security, Vi Movies and TV and Disney+ Hotstar VIP, and unique profile tunes via Vi Caller Tunes.
